Welcome to October!!
It’s a new month, and by now you know how the saying goes: “New month, new goals, new blessings etc etc” I hope it’s all good for you and me both. This month also happens to be my birth month *23 more days*. However, let’s not get into that today; yesterday I decided to try out a new restaurant and here’s a mini review:
Bay House Restaurant & Bar
Over the past few weeks the restaurant started having a special on weekends (Friday – Sunday) with discounted drinks, free shots, music from a live DJ and special menus. Saturdays were dedicated for seafood, which is one of my first loves, so why not visit? They’re open from 12p.m. for lunch, but we got there around 5p.m. for the drink specials. It’s been really cloudy for the past few days, so the sunset wasn’t as spectacular as it usually is. The view is still pretty beautiful though.
I got there extremely hungry and still couldn’t figure out what I wanted to eat. Finally I settled on the conch chowder and seafood rice, while my sister had the lobster bisque and seafood pasta. The chowder was so GOOD! but I was definitely taken aback when I saw the size of the plate/bowl it got served in.
The seafood rice had a nice flavor to it, but I absolutely hate the use of packaged seafood as opposed to FRESH SEAFOOD. It had in the tiniest baby shrimp, lots of squid and the nastiest tasting fish. So that’s one not to try again, but the pasta my sister had was pretty awesome. They used fresh seafood (shrimps, mussels, fish) and the creamy sauce was just right! *lucky her*
Side Note: The drinks were pretty good, and the prices were decent so maybe I may take another visit for seafood Saturdays, if they continue this special. I also want to try out the restaurant for brunch on Sundays, that’s been on my to-do list for a while. Definitely will post about it when it happens. 🙂
