10 Activities To Do This Summer

Woohoo It’s finally Summer.

Well, it officially started last week Wednesday with the longest day of the year.

By now, school should be out and I know most of you have been looking forward to this season for a time to relax. Β Usually on summer vacations however, after the first two weeks when you’re all caught up on rest it starts to get boring.Β That’s why I’m here to help you out!
If you know you’ll have a lot of free time and unsure of what to do with it, check out my list of activities you can do this summer.

P.S. – Even if you’re not free from school (summer semester) and have extra time on weekends/after work feel free to try an activity.

GET CRAFTY

Check out PinterestΒ for Summer DIYs that you can do in your spare time. Maybe there was a project you saw somewhere that you always wanted to do? You can make a few things to redecorate your room/apartment/office and even gift them to friends/family.

BE ACTIVE

Okay, maybe you didn’t work on that Summer body during the spring or had enough time during school. Well now you have all the time to get your body ready for the next season. Generally though you should always try to remain active for good health. Try a recreational sport, join a gym or simply walk/run in your neighborhood.

Read good books, eat well or at least well enough, be active, sleep. Start caring for oneself. Spring. Rebirth. Metaphor. Words.

CROCHET

During our first year in high school we had a craft class where we learnt different projects; crocheting was one of them. BoiiiΒ do I wish I paid more attention. Crochet swim wear and other products are becoming increasingly popular, and think how cool it’d be to wear your own creations.

READ

Yes yes I know, who wants to read during the summer break? A book is the last thing on anyone’s mind, but think about it you have the chance to read books which actually excite you. From mystery, romance, thriller and even self-help/inspirational books. There’s a wide variety to choose from; check out my reading list for ideas.

PAINT

I will always encourage anyone to explore their creative side, and what better time than now? The joy about painting is it can be anything and it doesn’t have to be perfect. Just express yourself!

EXPLORE

Whether it be your town/city/country try exploring unknown territory. Visit places you’ve never been to before, experience different restaurants and meet new people. If you had ample time to plan perhaps you decided to travel. That’s definitely a big summer activity that you can enjoy solo or with friends and family.

GO CAMPING

Depending on where you’re located camping can be a good idea. On the beach, in a park, do your research, invite some friends and get ready for an adventure. Even if it’s for a weekend, get out and have some fun.

HAVE A PICNIC

Another opportunity to get out the house. C’mon, who wants to be indoors during the summer? Just like camping you can choose anywhere to have your picnic and it’s really simple to plan. All you need is a blanket, snacks or your favorite foods/drinks, and extras (games, music, books). P.S A picnic is a good idea for a summer date as well.

  5. Most of these ideas are on my summer to-do list haha! I was just thinking about teaching myself how to knit (you can never be too early for winter prep) and crocheting sounds fun too. Camping is way out of my safe zone lol but I’d be willing to give it a try.
