ATBA Travels |Asuncion, Paraguay

Hey Guys! I low-key feel like I should start referring to September as “Solo Travel September”. Funny enough, last September I was in Bonn, Germany and this year my very first time to South America visiting Asunción, Paraguay. Even though both these trips were for work I’m still very appreciative of the opportunity. Otherwise, who knew when I’d ever end up in a city like … Continue reading ATBA Travels |Asuncion, Paraguay

Caribbean Festivals Bucket List

Now we all know of Coachella and the various EDM festivals in the US, but here in the Caribbean we have our fair share. Most may be in the form of Carnivals, however each island offers something different.

Here’s my bucket list of Caribbean Festivals:

Trinidad Carnival ~ February / March

The biggest and the baddest.

The hub of Carnival.

With its long street parades, endless fetes and an abundance of soca music, VIBES and food; this is one carnival to definitely try in your lifetime. Even if you choose not to play mas there’s still plenty to do during the carnival season. But the main point is to experience the road parade and cross the big stage. Their costumes are also extravagant and breathtaking you’d automatically fall in love with one. That also means that they could cost in excess of US$1,000. Photo Diary // 48 hours in Bonn, Germany

What I know most of you guys been waiting on, PICTURES. These are just a few shots I took while walking around the city or commuting to and fro the meeting area. It was absolutely stunning seeing all the building designs and just how clean the city looked *like out of a movie*. Sadly, I didn’t capture as much images as I’d like because my phone is low-key trash and I also didn’t want to be seen as that person *snapping everything*.
I also didn’t try a lot of German food, so there’s no take on that.

Hope you enjoy!

Fall was definitely in the air, the trees changing color was nothing short of breathtaking. The picture on the right is a tram sign alert, so you can know when the next one is arriving. These were very cool to ride on and they run every 5 minutes.

ATBA Travels | Solo in Bonn, Germany

Hey Guys!!

Last  weekend I embarked on a journey I would have never imagined myself doing. Well at least in reality, because I’ve always dreamed of touring Europe but this was different. Two months ago I received an email from my supervisor asking if I was interested in a particular meeting being hosted in Bonn. At first I was so hesitant, because 1. I just started working at this department a month before and 2. I would be traveling to Bonn by myself!

However, as you’d know I’ve been reading the year of yes, and I felt like this was the perfect opportunity to put what I’ve read into play. So with a bit of a boost from my friends and many questions to my supervisors/coworkers I decided to take up the offer.

The processing was extremely quick and within a week I had my itinerary; all that was left to do was to gather information on the meeting and learn all that I could *this included a lot of reading!*

*skips forward to last weekend* Continue reading “ATBA Travels | Solo in Bonn, Germany”

ATBA Travels | Redonda

Hey Guys!!

I can’t believe I’m only posting this now, please forgive me. However, last month I had the opportunity to visit Redonda to participate in a restoration project.

The island of Redonda exists as remnants of an ancient extinct volcano; it is also politically a part of Antigua & Barbuda. It’s currently uninhabited by humans due its nature (no running water, steepness, inaccessible by transport other than helicopters).

BTW this is all a part of my new job, so you can tell how excited I was for this opportunity. The trip was scheduled for a Saturday at 10 a.m. and once everybody arrived we went through an emergency briefing then it was time to go!!

5 Things To Do In Montserrat

As promised, here is my third post in relation to my travel weekend for Easter (First, Second). Known as The Emerald isle of the Caribbean, Montserrat provides nothing but lush surroundings, perfect for relaxing or exploring. These are five activities I would suggest to keep you active during your stay. However, I’m pretty sure you can find many others around the island.
