For a quick stopover in Miami on my way to Panama, I needed a hotel close to Miami International Airport to spend the night. Although it was only a short stay, I still wanted somewhere I’d be comfortable in. While searching booking.com I came across several options, however, given it was one night only, cost as well as hotel reviews assisted my in making the final decision. This turned out to be the Wyndham Garden Miami International Airport.

The drive from the airport to the hotel took around 15 minutes. They also had a free shuttle service available. It did take some time to get the shuttle due to the frequency they operate on. But, thankfully they were still available when we got out of the airport around 10 P.M.

CHECKING IN/OUT

Since I booked using Booking’s website, there was an option to check in online 24 hours or so before your scheduled arrival. However, I opted out and waited until we got to the hotel. The process was fairly smooth and I only had to add some additional information and pay a damage deposit. Despite the late arrival, the staff was friendly.

ROOM TOUR

Type: Queen Room with two queen beds

First off, the rooms were exactly like the pictures on the website. I liked the design and modern elements of the room. It was very convenient and provided a relaxing atmosphere.

The room was spacious, with enough space for two persons to move around comfortably. It included a desk/workspace which we did not utilize but practical for business travellers.

The beds were comfortable with soft linens and plush pillows and we definitely had a restful night’s sleep. As for the bathroom, there was a walk in shower with complimentary body wash, shampoo and conditioner. There was also a private area for the toilet and a well-lit vanity.

We got a room on the seventh floor with a view of the city and airport. Although close to the airport and a highway, the windows were soundproof so it was fairly quiet through the night.

HOTEL EXPERIENCE

Given the time we arrived, the restaurant was already closed for dinner so we didn’t get to experience this service. Looking at the menus, there were a variety of options to choose from. They also had happy hour and special menu items being advertised. What I liked most about the hotel in addition to the location, was definitely the room and shuttle service.

Overall, the room at Wyndham Garden Miami International Airport offer a practical, clean, and comfortable stay, ideal for travelers looking for convenience near the airport. The stay provided me with value for my money and I would opt for this hotel on another stopover in Miami.
