2018: Unapologetic + Unstoppable

Hey everyone! Happy Monday and an oh so Happy New Year! We made it! It’s 2018 and I have a mighty good feeling about this one. 2017 wasn’t all that terrible nor was it great; just like any other year it had its ups and downs or more downs than ups. Nonetheless, I remain hopeful to the new year and all the good energy it brings forth.

here's to 2018_

As I read many of my other bloggers last posts of 2017 I gained so much inspiration and words of wisdom which I plan to take into the new year. The word which got to me the most however was, “Resolutions aren’t the problem. Your discipline is.”Mattie James. That in itself struck a nerve, because I’d make all these lists of goals, plan a gazillion things in my head but do I act on them? No…. I’m lazy point-blank period and that has got to change for 2018.

As I read on Tanya’s blog 2018 is the year to “GET UP AND GET BUSY”

If you’ve noticed in my title header I’ve also proclaimed this year to be one where I’m completely unapologetic and unstoppable. To me, that is where I’ll force myself out of my comfort zone and live up to my true potential. I will do the things I’ve always wanted to do regardless of naysayers and I would do it without apologizing for my behavior.

Words to live by

Unapologetic also means being my true self; even if that means deciding to stay indoors with a good book and Netflix as opposed to going out; the quiet one or whatever other labels people come up with for me. That’s okay because I am me and I’m okay with it.

I will not apologize for things which make me ME.
I will be a force.

She was UNSTOPPABLE, not because she did not have failure or doubts because she continued on despite them.

This is just ONE of NINE FREE printable weight loss quote! This is the year I will be stronger, braver, kinder and usntoppable. This year I will be fierce. | Motivational Quote

As a side note I wanted to share a few of the highs I ended 2017 on pertaining to my blog. Firstly, I am eternally grateful for each and every one of you who continue to read and share my posts, interact with me and relate to me. It means so much and I don’t even think you guys know. I definitely did not see myself being where I am at right now and I couldn’t have done it without you. Thank You!

ATBA: As Told by Ali hit 300 followers/subscribers in December. Current tally is 320 Woohoo! I’ve been fiddling with the idea of having a giveaway, so be on the look out for that when it happens.

With the above came triple the amount of views when compared to last year and quadruple the amount of interactions on the blog. I owe this to my increased twitter presence as well as joining a Facebook blogger’s group (Black Bloggers Support).

Numbers aren’t a big deal, but they still matter and we all like to see the changes. One of the statuses which interest me the most is the list of countries section. Going through this list I’d see dozens of countries I’ve never heard of and I’m happy to see that I’m reaching persons from all over the globe. In 2017 we hit 93 out of 195 countries in the world!

As you can see ATBA is growing. All I can hope for 2018 is that we continue to grow together and I can write posts which inspire and motivate you all. Here’s to a new year with bigger and better things in store!

  1. “Your resolutions aren’t the problem. Your discipline is”. Favorite quote here. “Unapologetic”. Also, my current favorite word and mantra that I vow to live by in 2018. I’m on board with many of your sentiments and would also like to congratulate you on the success of your blog. Good stuff!

  3. I love the quote of about resolutions not being the problem, that the problem is our discipline or lack thereof. Most of us love the idea of creating the resolution but the work behind keeping the resolution is where we normally fall short. I’m working hard on being more disciplined this year so I can see my goals all the way through.

  4. This is wonderful and motivating! I LOVED that quote at the beginning. I’m lazy also and that really hit home. I have to get over that as well. I’m challenging myself to do a lot this year. I’m sure you’ll do great revamping your life. Congratulations on your 300 subscribers! That has to be exciting! Great post!

  5. Love this post! The quote from Mattie James definitely was something I resonated with. I believe if there is something you want to pursue you wouldn’t wait until a certain date to start! As for mantras this year one that I will be using is “I am worthy”.
